Godkiller Chapter Summary - 57 - Chasing Whispers
- Chapter begins midday on the the 65th of Spring, Annum 4466
- After reuniting with Abby, our heroes decided to cross a few items off their list.
- Magnus and Sherman sought payment for escorting Lord Curtis Renaull back to Holocene and paid Bennet Frence a visit. They payment was barely worth the health potions the adventure had cost them, and Bennet was his usual narcissistic self.
- Deimos and Spade hunted the city streets in search of Jo’sah. Tracking him to an alchemist where he’d purchased nap weed, and asked after rumors relating to Hatiat arrivals in Tenzentak. Implying the Beastfolk had problems sleeping, and was expecting to encounter those who would not welcome a tarth.
- Mal and Cyrus returned to The Second Heart faction, selling their information on Curtis and The Reality Anchor to Froya Glovewort. The woman was paranoid of changeling assassins.
- Reconvening at Rozwald’s favorite cafe, the party shared what they’d managed from their errands. Coin and intel alike.
- On the way to the Riftkeep, Cyrus had another seizure. Dropping to the ground.
- Elsewhere in Zol, a man named Ventril was strapped to a chair and interrogated by a hauntingly beautiful being. Red eyes, and wood trained like a bonsai, Vincet was keen on discovering who the man in the mask was, and what had happened to the doll. Threatening violence towards a young woman named Olsen. Ventril relented and admitted that the masked man was in fact him.
- Reawakening from his seizure, Cyrus admitted he may be connected to the shapeshifter after Froya and her intel, but wouldn’t elaborate further.
- At the Riftkeep, Mal was made a baron of the Rotwood in name alone.
- His papers were still being processed, and a house-crest was still to be decided.
- Another translation of the journal capped off the evening. More of Fejn’s ramblings about the Dogs. It seems even Wordbearers were perplexed by the mystery that haunts our heroes.
- Chapter ends late on the the 65th of Spring, Annum 4466
